Originally developed for the U.S. military during World War II, Frog Skin Camouflage was one of the first mass-produced camouflage patterns ever fielded by American forces. Introduced in 1942, its distinctive organic shapes and layered green, brown, and khaki tones were designed to blend into a variety of natural environments—from dense jungles to coastal terrain.
The pattern quickly became associated with U.S. Marines fighting across the Pacific Theater, where it saw action during some of the most pivotal campaigns of the war. Its effectiveness, unique appearance, and military heritage have made Frog Skin one of the most recognizable camouflage patterns in American history.
Today, original Frog Skin uniforms and equipment are highly sought after by collectors, military historians, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
